Bastian is 3 Weeks Old!

I can't believe our little man is already 3 weeks old! He has already changed so much since we brought him home. He is more alert and active each day and is very curious about his surroundings.

We have had quite a few adventures in the past three weeks! Bastian went to his first Fourth of July party, went on a walk with his friends, Colin and Nora, and had his first experience at a mall and out to eat! He slept through our visit at the Mac store but liked Sweet Tomatoes! He stayed awake for lunch and then quickly passed out!

Bastian is One Day Old!

Hello Friends!

Bastian is officially one day old! He did very well in the NICU last night and continues to do well today! He is eating like a champ and is definitely more alert.  So far all of his labs have come back normal so we feel very optimistic that he will be coming home with us tomorrow!  We will know more in the morning. 

We can't wait to go home and introduce Bastian to his other brother, Huck! :)

Welcome Baby Bastian

Hello Friends!

Bastian Asher Swartz made his way into the world at 5:22 this morning! It was an amazing experience and all the cliches of parenthood seemed to fall into place. He weighs 6 pounds 10 ounces. He has a full head of hair and Jake keeps saying he looks like me.

I spiked a fever at the end of the delivery and because of that, and a couple of other things, Bastian was taken immediately to the NICU to be monitored for infection. We have been with him in his NICU suite and he is doing great. Vitals, etc. are all good. He will be monitored for 48 hours and then hopefully we will all be able to go home. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

Still Waiting...

Hey Everyone!

We are still waiting but the contractions are starting to pick up! We will keep you posted. Thank you for your love and prayers!

Today is the Day!

We are sooo excited...Baby Bun is going to be here within the next 24 hours. I am not sure how long I will be the blogger...but right now I am doing well. :)

My water officially broke last night although we weren't sure until this morning. We have been moved to our labor and delivery suite and they just started the Pitossin.

It's a Boy!

Bun is a boy! We are so excited!  When the ultrasound technician asked us if we wanted to know if it was a boy or girl,  we both said yes and I immediately looked at Jake. When she said, "Boy" Jake looked like her won the lottery.  He even did a fist pump.  Those of you who have watched a Tennessee football game with Jake know this move!

Bun weighs 14 ounces and is very snug in his little home (I guess little is relative).  He likes to roll around in a ball, which did not make the ultrasound technician very happy.  Jake and I were so happy to hear that Bun is developing at a very healthy pace and his organs are all working correctly!

I am so excited and am so thankful each day for our little boy!  This is truly an amazing feeling.

20 Weeks

Tomorrow is the big day...we get to to find out if Bun is a he or a she!  We are  so excited! It is hard to believe we are halfway through the pregnancy.  Time has really gone by quickly. It is such a blessing!

Bun is moving around inside his little home (Not so little to me), although I have only felt her/she a handful of times.  I am so excited to feel more kicks and hiccups!  Our doctor said around 24 weeks I should feel movements much more frequently.

I will post more tomorrow! It is almost here!

16 Weeks

We had our 16 week check up today...Baby Swartz is growing and moving around in there! His/her heart is beating at about 14o bpm! In one month, we will find out if it is a boy or girl!
