Hello Friends!
Bastian Asher Swartz made his way into the world at 5:22 this morning! It was an amazing experience and all the cliches of parenthood seemed to fall into place. He weighs 6 pounds 10 ounces. He has a full head of hair and Jake keeps saying he looks like me.
I spiked a fever at the end of the delivery and because of that, and a couple of other things, Bastian was taken immediately to the NICU to be monitored for infection. We have been with him in his NICU suite and he is doing great. Vitals, etc. are all good. He will be monitored for 48 hours and then hopefully we will all be able to go home. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

congratulations! I hope your recovery goes well... sounds like you guys had a long night! I am glad you are blogging- its been such a fun way for me to stay in touch with old pals!
